Amazon is launching a HTML MP3 web store that will be supported on iPhones and iPod touch. This allow Amazon to avoid paying Apple 30% sales and a way to increase their sales in music sales. Another drawing point is it will be synced with Amazon cloud.

Good step in the right direction. I think they will need to create some sort of buzz or promotion to make it stand out in order to differentiate itself from the Itunes store, which already dominates the market

This is a brilliant move for Amazon. Amazon's $0.69 for popular songs compared to $1.29 in iTunes is going to allow amazon to continue their growth and definitely give Apple a new challenge to face.

Amazon already competes with Apple on many different levels, and I think this new web store will literally give Apple a run for its money, allowing Amazon to continue to climb to the top of the market.

I agree with the previous user's comment, hopefully this drives the price of apples music features down. What do we think apple will do to remain at the top of their industry, besides lower their prices?

Great idea for Amazon. This may finally give Apple some competition in the market and for once, Apple may have to lower their prices just to keep up with another company's business strategy.

This is a bold and significant move by Amazon. This is definitely a positive for their company in an attempt to compete with Apple. Apple has been the loan powerhouse of legally purchasing online music, controlling a market that needs a true competitor.

This is an extremely positive move for Amazon, by introducing this music store it is not only threatening to Apple but it links all of Amazon's previous electronics (ex. kindle fire). It will be interesting to see what variations this new idea will hold.

This is brilliant move for Amazon. They seem to be becoming more and more focused on expanding the entertainment side of their company. Apple will have to step up their game and lower their prices if they want to compete.

I like this move by Amazon. It shows that Amazon is attempting to expand its horizons and separate itself from other business, such as Apple

This is a great idea for both Amazon and for customers of music. More competition in the digital music market on mobile devices will hopefully lead to lower prices and better listening features.

Itunes has been the go to place for people to get their music for the past several years, and it's never really had a true competitor. With a new music store being launched that will potentially be cheaper, it puts the pressure on Apple to make changes

I think this is a good move on Amazon's part. They will no longer have to pay Apple, and with this hopefully the prices of the songs will decrease as well to provide competition.

I think this is great. The prices for music on itunes were starting to get a bit high. Now that they have competition with amazon hopefully it will force apple to bring down their prices a little.
