Personally, I like to have my phone on the table if I am eating somewhere so a waterproof coating would easily help to prevent water damage from spilled drinks.

This is the ideal option for customers, but on the phone developer's side, this could be a loss of repurchases or damage costs that aid them in their revenue. Also, this could damage other companies that produce waterproof cases.

I like this idea a lot. I am sure that most of us have had water damage with our cell phones. Therefore the phone companies should automatically include this great feature.

This idea is great, and I don't know why cell phone manufacturers don't automatically put this coating on all of their products. Water damage is really common, and this would prevent people from having that problem.

This is a great idea because many people take their phones/tablets EVERYWHERE and so it is likely one would forget to take them out of their pockets when going into water.
