After 4 years of falling attendance at NFL games, the Patriots are developing free WiFi and video streaming in the stadium to create more incentive for fans to buy game tickets and boost attendance.

Now that word of mouth is so accessible through social media, you want everyone to be able to express themselves in real time. Although it may seem unnecessary, this could be surprisingly useful for the Patriot's social media advertising

I'm a huge football fan but I dont see the correlation between wifi and attendance. This is a small perk of going to the stadium and paying for a ticket but most people already have internet access on their smart phones.

I think that this is a great idea to help the NFL expand its technology while also helping out the fans enjoy the game experience better. I do not think that there are going to be any negative effects with free wifi in NFL stadiums.

This is great. It allows attendees to see the available close-ups and replays that can only be seen at home, but includes the experience of actually being there. "Order-from-your-seat" snack & beer service increases positive customer service as well!

It seems pretty counterintuitive to me. Why try to promote attendance by giving the attendees the tools to not watch the game live?

Although I do think that giving people an insight into the game is a good idea, I do not think this will boost attendance. The NFL needs to promote and market ideas that will give people motivation to go to the game.

This is a really interesting article, but I doubt adding WiFi will really help boost attendance at NFL Games, most fans are not going to the stadium to surf the internet, they are there to watch.

Some of the ideas seem interesting, but I don't think it's going to help attendance. And shouldn't they try this at a stadium that is having a big attendance problem (not one that sold out 94% of games) to see if the plan actually works?

This is a great idea and it will be very interesting to see it put in place, but I do not think it will have an impact on whether or not people want to attend games. With the changing trends in media access, it could be successful in the future.

While some of the app features, like the order-from-your-seat snack and beer services, may have an effect on the attendance, I agree that few people will use the video streaming. I don't think the benefits will outweigh the costs.

This is a very interesting article and I think it will attract some more people to their games. However, I don't think it will have a big enough impact to actually make a difference worth the money their spending creating the whole WIFI system.

While I don't necessarily agree with what they are doing because I too think if someone is paying that much money to go to a game they want to watch it live, I think that this is a wonderful example of how our culture and society is changing.

I feel technology especially phones are already being over used. I think there are better incentives or strategies to get people to attend the games. I personally would not look at my phone to watch the game when it is right in front of me.

I agree @GeneSun >>> This does add to the overall NFL game experience, but how does it fit in the Patriots organizational strategy? Are they following the Grow approach as a team?

It won't hurt to add WiFi to the stadium, but I don't think it will make a significant impact on attendance. When paying a lot to attend a game, one is more interested in watching it in real life than watching on their phone. That can be done anywhere.

Even though I think this is a great idea, I still don't think this is a good enough strategy to boost attendance. Something else must be added along with these incentives to make up for some of the expensive seats.
