Apple's Itunes has started a largely discounted store. They are trying to keep the average Indian in mind with their cheap prices. They are doing this because India is very new to the online commercial music market.

This is a smart decision by Apple by keeping the consumers interests high on their business strategy and allowing the consumers to be able to afford their products.

This is a good idea because iTunes is losing many American customers due to free music downloading sites and other websites. Getting other countries to participate in iTunes will definitely help their business.

I agree that this is a good business move for Apple, it costs them next to nothing to let people download a song from their online store, and with Indian being such a huge market even by charging such a low price there is still plenty of room for profit.

I think this is very clever of iTunes. Lowering the prices will increase their business in an area of the world where consumers are not as willing to buy music. This will also definitely increase knowledge and popularity of iTunes once sales rates rise.

I think this may be a smart decision for Apple regarding the discounted songs in iTunes. Especially since India has such a large population, the volume of buyers may increase revenue even though the prices of songs have been discounted.

This is a common move by Apple in emerging markets as they are usually one of the first mp3 stores in the market and must counter high piracy rates(if no mp3 store previously existed/caught on).If it catches on, all parties win with the pricing

Does Apple own the rights over musicians work in order to determine the price in which it is sold? I feel this might have repercussions in other markets when people begin to question why their itunes store is more expensive.
